Powerful Strategies Unleashed
Clubhouse: The Hype About This New Social Media Platform
There’s a new bloke in the social media street and is all set to capture your imaginations. The new Clubhouse application is making news in Silicon Valley, especially after Elon Musk made an appearance on the app. He conversed with Vladimir Tenev on the platform, which has further spiked the application’s download figures. But, there’s so much more to know about this new social media application. Let’s understand Clubhouse with more clarity, shall we?
What is Clubhouse?
Clubhouse is an online space where people can talk, listen or host conversations using a mobile application. To put things in simple terms: you now get to listen or chime in live conversations happening between two or more people. No, this is not creepy as it sounds. The people having a conversation on the application want to get the word out. In other words, Clubhouse is an audio-only social media platform that has a podcast-ish vibe. But, the similarities with a ‘podcast’ end there.
How Clubhouse App Works?
Clubhouse’s aim is to create an online place where people across the world can join in on conversations happening inside a community of their choice. It gives the power to host conversations and have discussions around what the community finds worth discussing.
The user can open the application and select the rooms where there’s an ongoing conversation happening. Now by ‘ongoing’, we mean you can only catch a conversation that is live. There is no way you can listen to a conversation that has already happened. Once you open the application, you have two choices - either join an existing chat room or create one of your own.
The chat rooms have speakers, listeners, and moderators. The moderator’s job is to provide permissions to the participants for listening or speaking. In other words, everything inside a chat room on the Clubhouse app is put in order. This is a great addition to the already-strict user guidelines of the application.
What are the restrictions on Clubhouse?
Let’s put it like it is: you cannot enter any chat rooms without an invitation. If you want to listen to a conversation, somebody you know should be there inside the chat room. Only when the person invites you to the chatroom will you be able to participate. This invitation-only application is currently available only for iPhone users but will eventually be available for Android users as well.
